The closure on CHASE is a real industrial-grade steel screw link with a black powder-coated finish. Because of its heavy-duty construction, this finish does not behave like standard plated fashion hardware.
As a result, the coating is more sensitive to impact, scratching, and friction, and may chip over time — especially if the screw link is dropped or handled roughly. With wear, it can develop a rawer, more used industrial patina that matches the character of the piece.
This is a natural consequence of the industrial screw link construction and not a manufacturing defect. If you want to preserve the black finish as long as possible, we recommend handling the harness and closure with care and avoiding unnecessary impact or abrasion.
