Chain Finish & Care
The front chain of this mens harness is a real industrial-grade steel chain with a black powder-coated finish. Because of its heavy-duty construction, this chain does not have the same plated finish as Provocateur’s regular black hardware.
As a result, the coating is more sensitive to impact, scratching, and friction, and may chip over time, especially when dropped or handled more roughly. With wear, the chain can develop a rawer, more worn-in patina that reflects the character of the piece. Once the coating is damaged, the exposed metal may also become more vulnerable to oxidation.
This is a natural consequence of the industrial chain construction and not a manufacturing defect. If you want to preserve the black finish as long as possible, we recommend handling the chain with care and avoiding unnecessary impact or abrasion.
